There I was, a cowgirl with a nice cowgirl uniform and hat, racing through the Sahara Desert to save a little girl who had been kidnapped by a brown horse named Brownie. “Yeehaw!” I yelled, lassoing my rope to catch Brownie who was in front of me with the little girl on it. “Help!” she yelled. “Giddy up!!” I shouted at my white horse, Isabel, as my hair raced with the tense breeze. She raced to the horse in front and I leaned forward to grab the little girl when- “Aditi, Aditi, get up!” I heard. Someone was shaking me firmly. “Yeehaw!” I mumbled as I pulled my pink comforter and rolled onto the other side of my bed. “Aditi!” the familiar voice said. I turned towards the voice and squinted, due to the ceiling fan’s light rays beckoning me to wake up. I finally managed to see a tall figure with a short beard; it was my dad! I instantly tucked my head inside the blanket, and slowly my eyes drooped as I began to continue my cowgirl dream.
“Aditi!!” my dad said loudly. “Wake up! It’s the first day of school! You don’t want to be late!” he said, throwing the blanket off me and folding it. “Ugh!” I groaned, as I leisurely rolled off the bed and walked into the bathroom to brush my teeth. I got off the bed with my head and shoulders drooping as well as my back crouching down. I slipped on my pink, fluffy home shoes as I pushed the bathroom door. I closed it with a small click.
I flicked the restroom lights with my left hand and looked down instantly; it was bright and I had just now woken up. I then dared to look up, so I could get used to it. While peering, I took my toothpaste and squeezed it onto my brush. Then, I started rubbing it against my teeth, making an unpleasant scratching sound while thoughts ran through my head. I spit out my toothpaste while thinking about my first day of school. What time would lunch be? Would I make new friends? Would our class- “Aditi!!” my dad’s voice came from outside the bathroom, while he was banging on the door. “You know, there’s something called time!” I smiled while my dad yelled. It was going to be a great day.
