“We’re here!” shouted my dad, parking the car near a coconut tree. “Yay!” my little brother, Jacob, cheered. It was summer break, and my family had come to Florida for vacation. We took a plane all the way from Seattle to Miami Beach, where we were right now. I was so thrilled to come here that I didn’t rest my eyes the whole flight! However, I wanted to explore the entire beach and create a slideshow about it because they were different from our boring science projects in school. Why? Because they were all based on the theory of alien existence! I never believed in aliens, and I never would.
My family got out of the car and took out all the stuff that we brought, including our cooler with popsicles in it, umbrellas, foldable chairs, etc. “Jane!” I called my older sister, who was carrying the cooler. “What do you want now, Hanna?” Jane asked, rolling her eyes. “Can you tell Mom and Dad that I’ll be near the shore?” I pleaded. “Fine!” Jane said, shrugging her shoulders. “Thanks!” I shouted as I ran down to the water.
As I ran to the water to start exploring, a green light shone down on me. I squinted my eyes as I looked up to see a spaceship. “What?!” I mumbled under my breath. I frowned at the sight of something looking like green jelly floating down to the ground with an eerie sound. As it was, I was unable to see my surroundings because of the mist. I walked around the area to know where I was until I saw the scariest thing ever. Due to so many alien related projects in school, I knew instantly that that was an alien.
“Aaaaahhh!” I screamed. The alien spoke to me in gibberish, hence I had no clue what it meant. “Get away from me!” I shouted loudly. Where was my family? Did they see the alien too? Were they lost? Were they trying to help me? I didn’t have time to think about that. I quit looking at the creature and ran in the mist until something bounced on my head. “Ow,” I winced, as I opened my eyelids and rubbed my head. I was sitting against a coconut tree near shore. However, I didn’t see mist, spaceships, or aliens. What I did see was my family playing volleyball near the shore, and my dad calling to me, “Hanna! Now that you’re awake, come down here and join my team! We both can beat Jacob and Jane!” I stood up and yelled back, “Coming, Dad!” I ran down the hill and joined my dad, realizing that I had the craziest dream ever, and a coconut hit my head really hard.
