Whoosh! Our rocket had just now entered the thin atmosphere of the Red Planet. My fellow astronauts and I had started putting on our protection equipment since we would die instantly without it. Apart from that, you might be wondering why we were heading to Mars. Well, scientists are trying to find evidence that there is life for plants here on Mars, so they sent us here to get the proof.
The rocket had landed on the rusty, red sand of Mars, so my team and I started heading out to find the evidence. When I landed on the ground, I felt dizzy and wobbly because it had been nine months since I stood up and walked around. To get to Mars, it takes nine months, you stay for three months to make sure Earth and Mars are in a suitable location to go back home, and then it takes nine months back. It’s difficult to stay here for three months with the oxygen level only 0.2%!
My team and I split up in search of the evidence that we needed to go back home again. As I headed east, I saw a mesmerizing site. I saw a little blue planet. It looked like azure marble from a distance. After admiring it for a minute, I realized that was our current home, and Mars could be our future home.
As I continued walking for a while in making massive footsteps, I was about to put my foot on our evidence. When I saw it, my face lightened up. I saw a tiny seedling with a few leaves. I wasn’t sure what type of plant it was, but I was positive that it was the key back home, the key to see my family again, the key to become a hero.
