It was a chilly, cool evening as the gentle breeze made the autumn trees sway back and forth. Inside my cozy apartment, I was watching my favorite show on my iPad, sitting in my hammock while snuggling up with a warm blanket. I had finished all my homework today, so I giggled and grinned as I enjoyed my entertainment.
“Aditi!” my mom called from the kitchen. “Yes?” I replied without looking up from my screen.
“Are you ready for school tomorrow? Did you pack your bag, decide what you’ll wear tomorrow, and do your math homework your teacher gave you?”
Suddenly, my eyebrows raised, and my lips were tight. I didn’t finish all my homework! I had forgotten to do my math homework my teacher gave me! I switched off my iPad as I stopped the hammock from swinging. I raced to my backpack and dug through it to see where I had kept my math homework. My mom stood in front of me, staring, as she sighed.
I pulled out a slightly crumpled paper from my backpack, rushed into my room, and sat down at my neat table with books and papers stacked neatly.
I quickly wrote my name down in the given blank and started doing my math problems. Fortunately, the problems were simple and there only happened to be 10 problems on my paper which I was thankful for.
Soon enough, I was done with my worksheet and shoved it into my backpack, too lazy to even bother checking my work. I’ll ask my mom to check it tomorrow before I leave, I thought. Abruptly, my eyes widened. After what had happened just now with my homework, I wasn’t ready to try it again. I rushed to her with a grin to check my work.
“Correct, correct, and correct!” my mom said with a wide smile. “Good job, Aditi! But remember, never do things last minute. Because if I hadn’t reminded you to complete your work, you would have got a regrettable grade on your report card.”
“Okay,” I said with a nod. “I promise not to.” I quickly ran to my backpack and tucked my homework neatly in. That day, I learnt not to procrastinate because work that is done last minute may not be the best work someone can do.
Nice …Uou had learned a lesson for the life.
